CLINICAL SUPPORT TEAM

Dr. Alberto Heart MD, PhD
Dr. Alberto Heart works as pediatrician and neonatologist in Panama and is mostly known for his work in the promotion of breastfeeding and humanized birth. He is a renowned lecturer regarding the topics of humanization of birth, respected care of the newborn baby, lactation, polyvagal theory, child development and the neurophysiology of birth, co-regulation and the path to self-regulation.
Dr. Heart is the proud and loving father of two children, one of them with ASD which has led him to focus on the treatment, integral care and support of children with developmental disorders and their families.

Dr. Ivonne Pacheco MD
My role at Novel Biome will be to speak with you as your first point of contact. I will support you by answering any questions you have about the treatment and related protocol. It is an honor for me to be able to support you during your decision making process.

Dr. Santiago Sandoval MD
Dr. Sandoval is a medical doctor with a Master’s in hospital administration who strongly believes that to be a good doctor, you have to not only treat the disease but also the whole person. In his role at Novel Biome™, Dr Sandoval manages the Mexico clinic location.
He has completed additional training in the areas of ASD and is currently enrolled in a diploma program centered around pediatric nutritional diseases.
Dr. Sandoval loves to give back to the community and help those in need. For much of his life, he has dedicated himself to helping underprivileged children through his foundation and medical brigades. During his free time, you can find him spending time with family, friends, playing basketball and reading books.

Marie Mvogo
Physician Assistant
Marie is a Physician Assistant, licensed in Maryland who specializes in biomedical treatment for ASD, ADHD/ADD, SPD and others. She graduated from Anne Arundel physician assistant program in 2014 and obtained my masters in Medical Sciences from the University of Saint Francis, PA. Marie has practiced conventional medicine in many areas including hospital medicine, cardiology, and emergency medicine and has been trained as a MAPS (Medical Academic for Pediatric special Needs) provider. She is also a mother of a son with ASD.
My role at Novel Biome™ involves supporting each patient through their treatment journey, which starts with individualized pre-treatment testing and prescribing to improve the efficacy of the FMT treatment, followed by support and consultations during and following the treatment to make sure each step is optimized for safety and efficacy.

Amarjeet Kahlon Bsc.
Lab Manager
Amarjeet is the lab manager at Novel Biome™. Her current role involves planning and implementing overall laboratory policies and procedures, including ensuring compliance to the highest lab safety standards. Amarjeet ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including quality control and compliance adherence. Her background experience includes working as a research assistant in R&D manufacturing settings. She is a highly talented and accomplished lab technician/microbiologist with an extensive background in Quality Assurance and Quality control.

Marlene Maljaars
Operations Manager
Marlene is a patient care coordinator here at Novel Biome™ and has been working alongside Dr. Jason Klop, ND for the last 5 years to make sure that all attendees questions are answered and all necessary documentation is completed. Marlene ensures that your experience from start to finish is smooth and effortless.

Remie Mendoza
Nurse Administer
Remie graduated as a nurse from Sonora School of Nursing where she got specialty training in the field of neonatology at a children’s hospital. Through her storied career, she has spent many years in pediatric intensive care, as well as working in nephrology and gastroenterology units.
Remie’s vast experience in pediatrics makes her a perfect candidate to administer the FMT treatments at the retreats in Mexico and has been assisting in administering enemas for all retreat attendees since Novel Biome™ began focusing on offering FMT for children with ASD.

Cindy Leparski
Clinical Counselor
Cindy Leparski is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She founded her practice, Positive Care Counseling, in 2007 in Illinois. Her years of experience involve primarily working with special needs children and their families. Her goal is to provide caring and compassionate counseling/testing, to help build each child’s strengths and skills. Parents’ insights and opinions are highly valued in this collaborative process.

Natalie Mamo
Patient Support Coordinator / Ambassador (Australia)
Natalie graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Health Science as a Paramedic; she then went on to work as Paramedic for Ambulance Victoria. After some years she decided to change her career path and went on to work with Autistic children and their families.
For the past 5 years, Natalie has been working with a gastroenterologist, coordinating FMT programs, and administering fecal transplants to Autistic children.
In her role at Novel Biome™, Natalie works closely with patients and families supporting their every need in Australia coordinating FMT treatment.
CLINICAL AFFAIRS

Shaina Cahill, Ph.D.
Shaina is a neuroscientist with an interest in alternative medicines that utilize the body’s innate systems. She received her doctoral degree in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. Her research studies have focused on brain development and the impact of biological sex, exercise and aging on the brain. She has a passion for medical education and scientific communication that is accessible, accurate and digestible. When not immersed in research, Shaina enjoys exploring new cities and spending time with her family.
My role at Novel Biome includes expanding public awareness of the safety and efficacy of FMT. My hope is to provide patients and anyone interested in learning about FMT easy to understand information on this expanding area of research and clinical application.

Greg Rutherford
VP Global New Business
Greg has more than 25 years of global pharmaceutical and healthcare experience. Greg works closely with Jason on marketing and business expansion as well as on the data capture strategy.
